Luxury branding for exclusive Gallery in Mayfair, London

Kallos Gallery, founded by the high-profile antiquities collector, Baron Lorne Thyssen-Bornemisza, first opened its doors in May 2014. A glimpse inside and the interior design alone leaves no passer-by in any doubt that this is an establishment showcasing only the very finest pieces of history that money can buy.

When we were approached to create the luxury branding for Kallos Gallery we knew that nothing less than perfection would suffice. An elegant horse illustrated in a typically Greek style by Boston based artist Elizabeth Arnold struts proudly on a typographic plinth formed from the Greek word Kallos, meaning beauty above the name of the gallery itself.

No expense was spared when it came to creating the branded stationery suite consisting of letterheads, business cards, envelopes and folders. Black foiling with a multi-embossed technique lifted the horse proud off the page and also gave us the opportunity to add muscle tone and detail. The paper stock we specified for every item of the stationery suite was gently debossed with a fine brushstroke design. Referenced as Coltskin at the paper mill, the sweeps and swirls of the short fine strokes add a subtle look not dissimilar to fine horsehair.

Every detail was carefully conceptualised, from bespoke envelope designs lined with a Kallos branded pattern to triplexed business cards edged in a deep red. We even went so far as to commission bespoke stone business card holders to display the triple thickness business cards within the gallery.

“The SO team are passionate, engaged, professional, responsive, and utterly switched on to all that is beautiful, fresh, and bound to impress. From the moment they took Kallos on as a client they have been wholly dedicated to seeing our business astound and succeed.”
