In a world that’s mostly digital, a custom luxury book still stops people in their tracks. It’s not just the weight or smell of the paper – it’s the permanence. Once printed, it can’t be updated or swiped away. It exists. And that gives it power. We’ve found that’s exactly why so many clients – from brand founders to family offices – commission books. They want to mark something significant: a legacy, an anniversary, a personal story. And they want it to last. A great book doesn’t just say something – it becomes something. It’s an object people keep, display, and hand down.
Designing for longevity
A custom luxury book that stands the test of time starts with design decisions that are built to last. Layout, pacing, typography, and white space might not sound exciting, but they’re what give a book rhythm and clarity. When done well, you don’t even notice them – you just feel that it’s right. We approach book design a bit like architecture: everything should have purpose and balance. That applies as much to a 100 page art book as it does to a 300 page institutional history.
“Timeless design isn’t about decoration – it’s about restraint, rhythm and respect for the story.”
Getting tactile
Paper choice, binding and finishing make all the difference between a nice book and an extraordinary one. We often mix different paper stocks and use multiple print techniques or embellishments such as tip-ins (inserted pages or elements that add depth, texture and surprise) The goal is always to find the right balance between craft and durability. Even unseen details – thread colours, adhesive types, endpapers – change how a book feels in the hand and how it will age. It’s those small production decisions that turn a standard book into a beautiful heirloom.

For collectors and clients who value craft
We design for clients who appreciate detail – whether private collectors, entrepreneurs, institutions or global brands – people who see design as an investment, not an afterthought. Increasingly, that includes projects across the Middle East, where the way something is presented holds real importance. The wow factor often comes not just from the book itself, but from how it’s presented – a custom box or slipcase that feels like part of the overall experience. We’ve produced boxes using everything from fine papers and fabrics to solid wood and acrylic, and often combine different materials within the same piece to create something truly unique. It’s an area we’ve become known for. When the outer presentation is as carefully considered as the book inside, the whole experience becomes something genuinely memorable.
